The Yamaha Sessions Return

You may remember last year when we teamed up with Yamaha Guitars to give our students the opportunity to performwith professional musicians, audio technicians and our in house professional creative team. The live studio performance would be professionally recorded and filmed to create an inspiring portfolio piece for our Musical Theatre Students. This Year, Yamaha guitars invited us to their very own exclusive recording studio. Together with our musical director Bella Barlow we were able to do it all again and share that opportunity with more students!

First up, Students Daisy and Serene performed Blackbird by the Beatles. Their Live performance was captured in the video at the top of the page where Serene took lead vocals supported by Daisy playing the Yamaha Tag 3c and providing vocal harmonies. Both Daisy and Serene perform as part of a local band and earlier this year took the top prize at battle of the bands.

Following Daisy and Serene, our newest Head student Shelby Philpott performs another anthem with an acoustic adaptation of “Girls just wanna have Fun” Shelby has a true gift for sincere, heartfelt performances bringing a gentle vulnerabilty to the stage to captivate the audience with emotion.

Evan took us into the realms of Musical Theatre with his Performance of “Dad” from “Two Strangers (Carry a cake across New York)” . Evan has worked incredibly hard on his perfromance skills in the last few years with us and really stands out on stage for his passion.

Now what a finale! our Head Girl Skye Fox becomes the Shy and awkward Clare from the musical Made In Dagenham. Skye has a natural gift for acting through song and fantastic comedic timing. Now in higher education and focused on a carreer in the industry we cannot wait to see what the future has instore for her.
